Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring for an Audio Visual/Networking Engineer to provide A/V and CCTV Network support for the 39 IOS (US Air Force Cyber & IO schoolhouse). This position will be located at Hurlburt Field, Florida and will be an onsite position.

Responsibilities

Ideal candidate would be a network engineer with knowledge and experience in A/V and CCTV networks. This position will be responsible for engineering collaboration solutions for physical and digital workspaces. Collaborate with managed service provider to ensure IT and Audio/Video equipment operates properly. Keep abreast of trends in A/V technology and its application to understand current best practices, possible alternative solutions. Ability to comprehend AV system design diagrams, specifications, and technical manuals. Partner with A/V vendors to design and engineer solutions. Validate A/V technology integration with third-party vendors hosting large meeting events both on-site and virtual. Create, maintain, and publish design/architecture support documentation. Creative problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and ability to think outside the box.

Qualifications

High School with 3 - 6 years (or commensurate experience)

Required Skills and Experience

  • 3+ years of networking experience (such as Cisco switches, routers, firewalls)
  • 2+ years of experience installing, configuring, and maintaining professional A/V equipment (such as video switchers and extenders, amplifiers, speakers, control systems, and microphones) from companies like Crestron, Extron, Bosch, Cisco, Polycom, Logitech, etc.
  • 1+ years of experience in design of conferencing systems, collaboration technologies, video technologies, and room systems
  • Current DoD 8570 Certification, primary certification is Security+
  • Knowledge of communications and collaboration concepts, products, technologies, and solutions including VoIP, messaging, H.323, SIP, IP communications and protocols including TCP/IP, UDP, SIP, RTP, SCCP, MGCP, as well as trunks and PRI, extension mobility, dial plans, route patterns
  • Knowledge of MS TEAMS, Cisco Webex, Zoom, Jabber, etc.
  • Familiarity with codecs, content and video display units, microphones
  • Installation of audio, video and telecommunication components and systems in a neat, reliable, and serviceable manner
  • Knowledge of applicable FCC, NEC, OSHA, and local building code standards to meet or exceed minimum levels of performance and to assure client confidence.
  • Understanding of applied electronic theory (parallel/series calculations, wattage, impedance)
  • Able to perform proper soldering techniques.
  • Responsible for resolving a wide range of issues and complex technical problems or system failures; troubleshooting skills and experience is critical.
  • Monitor and address customer tickets such as Change Requests, Incidents, problems, and tasks via customer’s system of record.
  • Participate and produce training for customers and team.
  • Participate during technical reviews, exchanges, root cause analysis and ensuring compliance with security policy.
  • Develop documentation such as SOPs, various reports, knowledge articles, architecture maps, and other references, technical plans or supporting documentation as requested.
  • Strong communications skills both verbal and in writing with strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with a diverse team and provide technical direction/oversight, coordinating and scheduling preventative maintenance & outages while mitigating impact to client.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office required (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc)
  • Must be able and willing to work flexible shifts as required. Must be able to communicate by phone and in person with customers and appropriate organizations.

Posted Pay Range

 

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Pay range: $80,000 - $90,000 Annually
