Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring for an Automation Test Engineer with hands-on experience implementing automation and manual system testing. Candidates with Selenium automation test experience of user interfaces and APIs are preferred but not mandatory. This position will be a fully remote position, with opportunity to work one to five days per week at our Federal client's Washington, DC location if you desire.

 

Responsibilities

With a focus on testing and quality, you will collaborate with functional analysts, developers, and fellow testers to implement reliable and highly usable IT systems that meet customer objectives. Most testing will be automated, however occasional manul testing may be required.

  • Develops test plans, scripts, scenarios, functional tests, regression tests, and deployment tests.
  • Create both positive and negative test scripts.
  • Create and execute end-to-end, regression, and performance tests.
  • Implements automation tests using Selenium.
  • Designs reusable automation test components.
  • Executes automated and manual test cases.
  • Identifies system defects and helps to identify the root cause.
  • Collaborates with multiple teams in troubleshooting complex technical or non-technical issues.
  • Records test results and defects.
  • Participates in requirement grooming and product walkthroughs.
  • Proactively manages work assignments.
  • Reports on progress and impediments during daily Agile stand-ups.
  • Consults with the development and functional teams to coordinate testing.
  • Implements the testing processes and ensures all test activities follow those processes. Produces reports on each test activity and tracks test metrics.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree with 5 - 8 years (or commensurate experience) 
  • On a case-by-case basis, work experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree for highly qualified candidates.
  • 5 or more years overall software testing experience.
  • Minimum 2 years using C# or .NET framework for automating scripts
  • Minimum 2 years of automation test experience using Selenium or similar automation test tool.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Test case management tools.
    • Refining user stories, especially the testability of acceptance criteria.
    • Functional Testing.
    • Writing test plans, creating QA processes, and being a thought leader in quality.
    • Automated testing frameworks (strategy, scripting, execution, and reporting).
    • Writing automated web (front-end) end-to-end tests.
    • Efficiently developing and executing tests in an agile (Scrum) environment.
    • Writing SQL queries and scripts.
    • Must reside and work within the U.S.
  • Solid understanding of test involvement in:
    • Requirement analysis
    • Scenario design, test case creation, test scripting
    • Agile estimation and planning

Clearance Required: Must be able to obtain a U.S. government Public Trust clearance. 

 

Preferred Skills and Experience 

  • Experience working in an Agile software development environment.
  • Experience using Microsoft Azure DevOps.
  • Experience using Microsoft Dynamics-based systems.
  • Experience testing public-facing websites and/or customer case management systems.
  • 508 accessibility testing experience.
  • Writing automated API (back-end) tests.

Posted Pay Range

 

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Pay range: $90,000 - $120,000 Annually
