Overview
GovCIO is looking for a Business Process Re-engineer to work on a technical support services team supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Information Security, Business Integration and Outcome Services division. The ideal candidate has experience in business process reengineering and business process improvement roles as well as a strong understanding of process improvement methodologies.
This job will be located in the DC/MD/VA area with occasional work onsite.
The total estimated number of trips in support of program related meetings for this effort is estimated at six (6) trips per year. Anticipated locations include the following, estimated at three (3) days in duration each:
- Austin, TX
- Chicago, IL
- Bay Pines, FL
Responsibilities
- Work directly with clients to understand business goals, system platforms, and processes
- Recommend new approaches and procedures to effect standardization and improvements in meeting business objectives
- Conduct assessments of client current processes, reports and procedures
- Collect and analyze data to support process improvement
- Conduct thorough analysis on process findings with an ability to test, validate, and measure process quality
- Analyze business process, articulate, and implement recommended improvements
- Conduct thorough process mining as needed
- Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOP) to support organizational work activities
- Create and publish to a designated Government location, to include but not limited to VA SharePoint sites and applications, a weekly reporting dashboard that configures and integrates data points from various tracking tool sets.
- Develop a health score card and view of key and actionable performance indicators across all Portfolios. Support survey development, after customer engagements, to assess BIOS experience, customer service, responsiveness and/or delivered work product value.
- Leverage the data and insight gathered from survey results to recommend action items to improve the customer experience.
- Support the organization in the creation of organizational supporting metrics such as Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), Objectives Key Results (OKRs), risks, key dependencies, or other quantitative measures.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
- BS/BA degree in a technical or business discipline or related field of study (or commensurate experience)
- 8+ years of professional proven experience in business process reengineering, process improvement, or related roles
- Experience working with senior leadership, facilitating and managing large complex working groups
- Experience in analyzing and redesigning complex business processes in large organizations
- Familiarity with process mapping techniques and process modeling tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and develop practical solutions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization
- Proficient level of understanding w/ Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, and Excel), Microsoft Office Teams, and SharePoint

Posted Pay Range
The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
Pay range: $115,000 - $130,000 Annually
