Overview

GovCIO is seeking a candidate for the position of Communication Analyst/Project Coordinator in support of its client; Health Informatics Product line, Health Data Management Sub-Product Line, in the Office of Information Technology at the Department of Veterans Affairs.  This is a remote working opportunity.  The ideal candidate is expected to have a proven track record of working remotely with minimal direction.  Prior experience with a civil agency, preferably Veterans Affairs, is preferred. The environment is dynamic, and client needs are often evolving.  As such, thought leadership, problem-solving, rapid learning, multi-tasking, and carrying the innovative mindset needed to lead our clients through conceptualization, strategic planning, and execution is paramount.  This position will be a fully remote position based in the United States with core hours of operation from Monday to Friday 8 AM to 5 PM ET. 

Responsibilities

  • The candidate will proactively disseminate information throughout the Health Informatics ecosystem, team members, and key stakeholders using clear and effective communication channels as well as assist in project coordination activities. 
  • The Communication Analyst role will support the Health PMO contract by ensuring all communications are in support of product and sub-product line objectives and are consistent across delivery channels and stakeholders. 
  • The Communication Analyst role will support the Health PMO contract by coordinating and compiling the formal delivery of contract deliverables, meeting coordination; executive level meeting minutes; tracking of staff corporate participation; and other similar functions. 
  • Work in partnership with the VA’s IT Strategic Communications team to ensure branding and style guidelines are maintained
  • Leverage multiple types of communications methods and channels to identify trends throughout the communications lifecycle across the sub-product line
  • Conduct gap analysis to determine strengths of current approaches and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Responsible for on-time completion of all deliverables
  • Responsible for tracking timelines, performance progress, identifying and mitigating risks in various tasks
  • Responsible for supporting and implementing process improvement strategies
  • Will conduct research, analyze information needs, and perform analysis to support delivery of relevant tasks and artifacts
  • Responsible for the discernment and understanding of a diverse set of differing communication styles and provide appropriate responses that resonate with multiple audience types
  • Review and provide expert support for Jira tracking, story updates, and reporting.
  • Coordinate and refine content for executive reports, draft outward facing news stories/newsletters, create documentation for team quick reference guides, and other program level artifacts
  • Responsible for providing input to various status and progress reports with multiple frequencies (e.g., daily, weekly, bi-weekly, etc.) as well as provide assistance with executive level reporting
  • Provide data and records management support

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Business, Engineering, or Technical discipline plus 7 years of experience; 8-10 additional years of experience can be substituted for the degree requirement
  • Must be well versed in all Microsoft Office products such as SharePoint, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Visio, MS Teams, and Outlook
  • Experienced in the basic components of project management: Planning/scheduling, reporting, risk management, project coordination, time management/deadlines and documentation.
  • Strong familiarity with Agile methodologies such as SAFe and Scrum
  • Experience implementing process improvement strategies
  • Experience using JIRA for JIRA tracking, updates, and reporting

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Health IT environment experience
  • Experience with the Department of Veterans Affairs
  • Project Management Risk and Issue identification, and documentation experience
  • Knowledge beyond the basic level with Jira, GitHub, and SNOW
  • Experience tracking timelines and performance progress
  • Experience juggling multiple priorities, often with tight deadlines
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Good decision-making and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and conduct research with minimal guidance and supervision
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills
  • Strong, collaborative communication skills

Clearance Required: Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust/Suitability clearance.

Posted Pay Range

 

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Pay range: $90,000 - $100,000 Annually
