Responsibilities

GovCIO is seeking a candidate for the position of Communication Analyst/Project Coordinator in support of its client, the OI&T Health Informatics Product Line at Department of Veterans Affairs.  The candidate will assist in project coordination activities and disseminate information to Health Informatics team members and key stakeholders through clear and effective communication channels.

  • Ensure all communications are in support of product line objectives and are consistent across delivery channels and stakeholders
  • Work in partnership with the VA’s IT Strategic Communications team to ensure branding and style guidelines are maintained
  • Leverage communications methods to identify trends throughout the communications lifecycle
  • Conduct gap analysis to determine strengths of current approaches and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Coordinate and lead scrum activities, planning, and execution activities within the Intake team
  • Review and provide support as needed for Kanban and Jira tracking, updates, and reporting.
  • Coordinate content and refine content for and executive reports, draft outward facing news stories/newsletters, create documentation for team quick reference guides
  • Perform backlog grooming and refinements, and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to proactively identify risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Strong understanding and hands-on experience working with JIRA, SharePoint, etc.
  • Responsible for providing input to various status and progress reports with multiple frequencies (e.g., daily, weekly, bi-weekly, etc.) as well as provide assistance with executive level reporting
  • Provide  data and records management support

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

  • Education Requirements:  Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or a related scientific or technical discipline is required. 
  • Years of Experienced Required: 8 years of relevant experience may be substituted for education
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Good decision-making and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and conduct research with minimal guidance and supervision

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience within a Health IT environment is desirable, but not required
  • Experience with Jira, GitHub, SharePoint, and Visio is desirable but not required.
  • Experience with Project Management Risk and Issue identification, and documentation is desirable but not required.

Compensation Range (In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act for remote or positions located in CO)
