GovCIO is seeking a transformational Concur Travel Specialist to serve as a trusted advisor to Veterans Affairs (VA) Veteran Experience and Technology Platform Services (VETPS) contract under Office of Information Technology (OI&T) leaders and key stakeholders with a focus on business outcomes. VETPS covers various IT and health IT support services including program planning, communications delivery, and maintenance support. The Travel Specialist will provide high-level support requiring broad and comprehensive experience interacting with senior leadership, including skill and knowledge of federal travel regulations, and VA organization policies.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert on all topics related to Concur and its processes
  • Create, manage, and organize all Concur travel documentation and guidance for VA personnel using the available suite of tools (Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Slack, etc.)
  • Ensure any and all new VA employees joining OCTO (Office of the Chief Technology Officer) are aware of where to find the necessary documentation and to even go as far as providing orientation on the subject
  • Maintain relationships with key personnel to allow for the continued flow of information
  • Support each individual’s travel specifications and ensure their needs are met within the constraints of the government travel budget
  • Assist in special assignments as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in operations research, or a related scientific or technical discipline
  • 5 years of related experience in communications, planning and leadership support
  • 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted

  • Experience with VA Travel and Concur
  • Ability to obtain VA clearance
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Meticulous organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently in an extremely demanding environment
  • Critical and analytical thinking abilities with great attention to detail

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Ability to foster collaborative relationships with other teams and leadership
  • Flexibility to change in direction at a moment’s notice while also tracking/executing tasks in progress
  • Ability to think “outside of the box” while communicating or dealing with a variety of situations
  • Previous Department of Veterans Affairs experience preferred

Compensation Range (In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act for remote or positions located in CO)
