Overview

GovCIO is looking for a Configuration Management / Systems Analyst to work on a technical support services team supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Information Security, Business Integration and Outcome Services division. The ideal candidate has experience incorporating document management and technical writing best practices as well as proficient experience working with SharePoint and Microsoft Teams.

This job will be located in the DC/MD/VA area with occasional work onsite.

 

The total estimated number of trips in support of  program related meetings for this effort is estimated at six (6) trips per year. Anticipated locations include the following, estimated at three (3) days in duration each:

 

  1. Austin, TX
  2. Chicago, IL
  3. Bay Pines, FL

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and document configuration management requirements, ensuring accurate and up-to-date configuration data
  • Develop and maintain configuration management plans, policies, and procedures to adhere to industry standards and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in the selection and deployment of configuration management tools and systems
  • Work closely with stakeholders to resolve configuration-related issues and discrepancies
  • Works on developmental and operational teams to create and maintain configuration baselines (development, test, production, etc.) supporting developmental and operational systems
  • Develops or modifies CM plans, policies, and procedures tailored to the complexity and scope of the developmental or operational system
  • Maintain BIOS’ user requirements-based design management system, built on VA infrastructures (e.g., SharePoint and Microsoft Teams) and build from current repositories such as a central repository of all VA technical integration information, a central repository of all business information, used to support internal functions, a central hub comprised of information on each of the portfolios within BIOS as well as general knowledge and links for all
  • Maintain BIOS’ Service Desk Knowledge Articles database to include, at a minimum, removing, uploading, and reviewing articles for accuracy and 508 compliance.
  • Create and maintain management process frameworks and update as needed and/or as directed by the VA.
  • Design, create, integrate, test, implement, maintain, and manage BIOS Portfolio SharePoint sites.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

 

  • BS/BA degree in a technical or business discipline or related field of study (or commensurate experience)  
  • 8+ years of professional experience with Configuration Management in programs of contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
  • Knowledge and experience w/ SharePoint, Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and Microsoft Teams
  • Solid planning, organizing, and data gathering skills, as well as attention to detail
  • Proficiency in overseeing IT project requirements and the change control process, including direct involvement in the implementation and maintenance of change/configuration management policies, plans, and procedures
  • Experience participating in technical and cross-functional projects
  • Solid analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks in prescribed timelines consistent with deliverables and ask for support and direction as appropriate
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Familiar with agile working methodologies to manage user stories across a kanban board from backlog through completion

Posted Pay Range

 

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Pay range: $110,000 - $120,000 Annually
