GovCIO is seeking a Contracts Administrator to join our team-oriented, customer-focused Contracts and Procurement Team. GovCIO is a full-service information technology (IT) and enterprise service management provider. Responsibilities
The Contracts Administrator will have 0-2 years of experience in the government contracting arena. This is a developmental position where the candidate will learn, through on the job training, the contracting/subcontracting process in the government contracts arena, negotiation skills, and application of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense FAR Supplement (DFARS), among other things. Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree, be self-motivated and capable of applying problem solving to a variety of issues. Work is performed in office space in Huntsville, Alabama or Fairfax, Virginia with remote work available as the employee gains experience. While learning on the job the candidate will contribute to GovCIO programs fulfilling government prime contract requirements and making an impact to GovCIO’s continued growth. The Contracts Administrator will:
- Perform contract administration and proposal activities in support of Business Units/Sectors providing services to Department of Defense (DoD), Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), and/or Federal civilian agencies (EPA, NASA, etc.).
- Administer and analyze contracts, requirements, special provisions, and terms & conditions to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, corporate policies, and business unit procedures.
- Review solicitations and support responses for proposals and associated contract acquisition activities.
- Administer and support negotiation of standard and nonstandard contracts, to include examination of requirements, analysis of terms and conditions, and evaluation of risk.
- Draft, issue, review, and maintain contractual instruments such as Non-Disclosure, Agreements (NDA), Teaming Agreements (TA), and Subcontract Agreements.
- Regularly interface with internal and external stakeholders regarding contract administration, proposal, and business needs, providing for proper and timely fulfillment of assigned duties.
- Prepare and disseminate information regarding contract status, compliance, modification, deviation, and negotiation. Advise management of contractual rights and obligations.
- Prepare, organize and maintain contract records and files documenting contract performance and compliance.
- Prepare and process specification, progress, and other reports.
- Compile and analyze data, as well as maintain contractual files and historical information.
- Monitor and administer contracts for conformance with requirements. Maintain review to ensure that terms and conditions are being fulfilled, and that contracts are operating & delivering in accordance with contractual specifications, legal requirements, and government regulations, to specifically include applicable Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense FAR Supplement (DFARS), and agency specific clauses.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree preferably in business administration, mathematics, accounting, economics, or related field.
- Zero (0) to two (2) years of related experience administering contracts/subcontracts, office administration functions, purchasing or contract administration.
Required Skills and Experience
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem solving, skills/techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent reading and comprehension skills.
- Proficient with MS Office Excel, Word, and Power-Point.
- Desire to learn and grow within the government subcontracting/contracting career field.
