Responsibilities

 

Serves as the senior subject matter expert for CostPoint and associated systems and interfaces to support financial departments and end users. Acts as a liaison between IT development groups and business units for the development and implementation of new CostPoint/Cognos reports and/or enhancements to existing reports. Analyzes and designs processes and systems, assessing the business model and its integration with technology. Specifically, the position is focused on the design, process definition, technology implementations, and operational reporting of the company’s financial systems.

 

Coordinates with business and technology teams, ascertaining system requirements, such as program functions, input data needs, output requirements, and system techniques and controls. Provides technical/functional expertise in identifying, evaluating, developing, and supporting systems’ effective usage. Has the business knowledge and perspective of financial processes, analysis and reporting business functions and the system understanding to ensure it meets the business needs. May also be functional experts in financial, program control or logistical are as well as able to design, develop and validate financial reports/analyses. 

  • Analyzes business and technical processes to formulate and develop new and modified business information systems.
  • Interfaces between systems architects/programmers and users to ensure that financial information technology designs meet the needs of the end users within an
  • Document product/service requirements and develops test procedures to ensure user requests are carried out and that data usage/reporting is accurate.
  • Create, modify and/or correct financial reporting documents, dashboards, and other analytic tools.
  • Respond to internal business user requests for assistance with issues related to CostPoint and related application functions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner with oversight and coordination with business user team members.
  • Work with IT and vendor consultants for configuration of applications and issue resolution as needed.
  • Develops technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
  • Work is performed independently but in close coordination with corporate financial and technology organizations. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to Effects of decisions are long- lasting and heavily influence the future course of the Company. Errors in judgment or failure to achieve results would result in the expenditure of large amounts of resources and/or negative impact on financial performance.

Qualifications

 

Mandatory position requirements

  • Bachelor or Masters degree in Computer Science, Accounting/Finance, Information Systems, or other related field, or equivalent work experience, with 12+ years (or commensurate experience).
  • 10+ years of experience with the Deltek CostPoint (version 7 or 8) platform as a functional expert and/or administrator and T&E.
  • Extensive knowledge of the following CostPoint domains: Accounting, Projects, People, and Administration, including expertise in the following functional areas: G/L, A/P, A/R, Project Setup, Procurement, Subcontractor Module, Cost and Revenue.
  • Experience with Cognos Report Studio, Framework Manager and Administration.
  • Experience with budgeting and forecasting using TM1 Focus Point
  • MS SQL Server 2016 (or higher), including SSMS, T-SQL scripting, stored procedures/function development.
  • MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Ability to effectively translate technical concepts and communicate them in a way that is understandable to business colleagues.
  • Strong documentation skills; technical and functional specifications, process flow, system schematics.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.

 

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Strong accounting or accounting systems background.
  • A wide and comprehensive understanding of both corporate and project-level financial reporting needs.
  • Experience using ADP WorkforceNow

 

Work Location: Northern Virginia, Maryland, District of Columbia region. Hybrid work splitting time from remote/work from home and in-office work at the Fairfax, VA location.

Compensation Range (In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act for remote or positions located in CO)

$140,000-$170,000
