Job Overview

 

GovernmentCIO is currently looking for a Telecommunications Engineer to join our growing team supporting Federal clients. The successful candidate will support the Department of Veterans Affairs Central Office (VACO) End User Operations (EUO) IT Services and Support (ITSS) by providing IT Tier 1 and Tier 2 Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and Telecommunications IT Support Services to approximately 10,000 VACO Campus employees located throughout approximately 18 sites within the National Capital Region (NCR).

 

Responsibilities

 

The Telecommunications Engineer will be responsible for supporting the following: 

 

  • Cisco Telephony
  • Cisco Call Manager
  • Cisco IP Communicator, which is a VoIP softphone
  • VoIP Telephones
  • Analog Telephones
  • Secure Line Telephones
  • Telephone Headsets and accessories
  • LAN Cabling
  • Telephony Cabling and 110&66 Punch Down Blocks
  • Telecommunication circuits in demark and communication closets
  • Biscom Fax Server
  • ServiceNow – Enterprise Service Desk

 

Qualifications

 

The Telecommunications Engineer is comfortable in a lean environment with a growing and evolving team. 

 

Required Skills and Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • US Citizenship or Green Card is required.
  • 2-4 years of experience with telecommunications.
  • Possessing or able to pass a Tier 2 Moderate Risk security background check.

 

Preferred Skills and Experience 

 

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Experience working with a team
