Overview
GovCIO is currently hiring for an Information Security Systems Engineer (ISSE) to
provide Cyber Security Engineering support for the 39 IOS (US Air Force Cyber & IO schoolhouse). This position will be located in Hurlburt Field, Florida and will be an onsite position.
Responsibilities
The contractor shall provide extensive engineering, technical, and operational analytical support services. This includes performing in-depth technical assessments of vendor solutions, malware reverse engineering, network and cloud analytics, and emerging technology in support for Defensive Cyber Operations Training. The contractor shall support cybersecurity compliance, Information Assurance (IA) oversight & management, certification and accreditation, and the required security support services for current and future systems. The contractor shall support development of all Risk Management Framework (RMF) artifacts required in support of accreditation including the Security Plan (SP), Security Assessment Report (SAR), Security Controls Traceability Matrix (SCTM), and Plans of Action and Milestone (POA&M).
- Assists in the Assessment and Authorization (A&A) evaluation process ensuring security compliance with Authorization to Operate (ATO) packages.
- Comply with government and industry Cybersecurity standards, policies, guidelines, and best practices.
- Execute independent Security Control Validation for Air Force Information Systems.
- Conduct independent compliance assessments, data collection, test automation, and reporting.
- Utilizing cyber test tools and developing strategies for cybersecurity testing in DoD, Air Force and Space Force systems.
- Assist in the development and implementation of government approved information security procedures and plans for the operation of multiple mixed classified networked and standalone systems, and coordinate government agency approvals.
- Perform system security analysis on systems and/or software to understand and identify cyber vulnerabilities.
- Document and communicate test results effectively to technical and non-technical user groups in both written and oral formats.
- Apply information technology security principles and configure security settings, complete weekly system audit, apply security patches and conduct reviews.
- Consult on the design, development, integration, and analysis of multi-classified computing systems with the project design and implementation team.
- Leverages technical knowledge of computer systems and networks with cyber threat information to assess the network security posture.
Qualifications
Bachelor's with 8+ years (or commensurate experience)
Clearance required TS/SCI
Required Skills and Experience:
Minimum Certification Requirement: Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification. Knowledge in the Cybersecurity Assessment and Authorization process to support DoD acquisition programs through the RMF process. Significant knowledge of Windows and Linux Operating Systems. Analytical skills and problem-solving skills. Good organization, decision making, and verbal and written communication skills. Excellent self-initiative and self-motivation with the ability to work under minimal supervision. Ability to work effectively in small and large team settings to solve complex problems. US Citizenship
Zero Trust Architecture
NextGen Firewalls, specifically Palo Alto
Encryption and PKI
Experience in cybersecurity testing and/or leading cyber test events
Experience using tools like eMASS, DISA STIG Viewer, DISA STIGs, ACAS, NESSUS, NMap.
Experience using Terraform infrastructure
Experience using GitHub and GitLab devops software platform
Dynamic Access Control / Identity Management
SIEMS experience (to include Splunk, ELK, LogRhythm, or Google Chronicle)
Cisco Network Security (including Cisco Tetration, Cisco ISE)
AWS/Azure/Google cloud security functions (e.g., Azure Security Center)
Endpoint Device Health and Forensics
3+ years of Identity and Network security design and implementation
Understanding of Trusted Internet Connection version 3 standards and migration path
Other certifications preferred: CCSP, CISM, GSLC, CISA, CASP, or equivalent from issuing bodies: (ISC)², Comp TIA, ISACA, GIAC, CISCO, EC-Council, IAPP, or equivalent. Kibana and Logstash
DISA STIG Implementation
Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy Management
VMWare vSphere, vCenter, Aria, and Horizon View
HBSS & ACAS certification/training
Windows Server 2016, Server 2019, Windows 10/11 and VMWare
Clearance Requirement: Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance

Posted Pay Range
The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
Pay range: $120,000 - $140,000 Annually
