Overview
GovCIO is currently hiring for a Network/Systems deployment engineer to provide deployment support for our federal customer. This position will be located in South Burlington, VT and will be an onsite position. This position requires travel within the United States.
Responsibilities
Support the deployment and decommission of network infrastructure and commodities in support of components, such as, but not limited to: routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, WAN optimizers, UPS units, Encryptors, Power Distribution Units, wireless access points, and wireless and mobile network kits containing multi-disciplined technologies. Support the development of wireless site surveys pre and post deployment and assist with wireless survey reports. Deploy backend physical access control systems. Support the installation of network software, such as but not limited to: Cisco IOS/NOS, Riverbed RIOS, Big IP to ensure devices meet compliance. Locally perform root-cause analysis, identify, and perform corrective actions. Work with Engineering to identify, diagnose and resolve complex problems with data infrastructure as the new deployment occurs. Along with documentation/updates to the knowledge database. Support the implementation of network solutions in Field Sites of various sizes and degrees of complexity. Maintain ongoing updates to documentation related to wired and wireless network layout. Provide local support for installation and maintenance of Operating Systems in support of all infrastructure to include patching, updated releases, Firmware and BIOS updates to ensure platforms meet compliance. Support integrated software deployment tools to push operating systems, and predefined packages. Utilize Active Directory for computer object additions to established groups for infrastructure deployments. Deploying virtual machines into established VM environments (Hyper-V through VMM and VMware) Assist in planning for the future strategy of server, storage, and platforms and provide budgetary information with established vendor contacts as needed. Installation and troubleshooting through Powershell and Microsoft Server 2019 / 2022 Command Line Interface (CLI) . Network and UPS device setup and configuration through PuTTy CLI. Provide local maintenance support for virtualized environments (DevTest, Stage Production). Support monitoring of application stability, security, performance, and capacity management, as well as documentation of current and future configuration processes and policies. Support the deployment and expansion of Client Server technologies, as well as monitor, refine and research solutions to existing problems. Troubleshoot Virtual machine (VM) and performance issues. Assist in analyzing performance data to provide capacity planning and resource utilization information in support of operational processes.

CCNA or other Cisco network certifications. CompTIA Network+ certification .

Posted Pay Range
The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
Pay range: $69,000 Annually
