Responsibilities

  • Uses judgment and initiative to determine the approach or action to take in non-routine situations.
  • On a daily basis assigns work, issues instructions to subordinates and arranges for scheduling in order to accomplish priorities established by management.
  • Monitors and reports operational activities to ensure that productivity and quality goals are achieved.
  • Provides for on-the-job training of new employees.
  • Resolves procedural and employee problems within the work group.
  • Recommends disciplinary action as appropriate for manager’s approval prior to employee action.
  • Maintains employee work files such as time and attendance recording, and prepares employee evaluations for submittal to manager for review prior to employee discussion.

Qualifications-

  • High school education with some post secondary education considered a plus. Must have willingness to further education through seminars or other means.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in a positive professional manner. Must have experience in a leadership position.
  • Must have the ability to accept direction, understand new concepts and handle multiple tasks effectively.
  • Must be a self-motivated, well-rounded, organized, detail oriented individual with sound problem-solving skills and the ability to positively influence other employees.
  • Must be able to maintain accurate records.
  • Individual must be a team leader and be both safety and security conscious with a high reliability.
  • Prefer a working knowledge of PCs with MS Word and Excel experience as a minimum requirement.
