Overview

GovCIO is currently looking for a Linux Systems Administrator (SME)  for our Courts proposal. This position will be located in San Antonio, TX.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for server operations inclusive of hardware, operating system (OS), and utilities on the server.
  • Has expertise in one or more operating systems and is responsible for support functions such as planning/deploying/maintaining/supporting servers such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux or Windows, database system. backup system, and the application stack.
  • Assists with restorations, application installation, testing, Tier 2 and Tier 3 support, and troubleshooting issues.
  • Provides migrations, performance tuning, analysis and support of infrastructure, and internal hardware.
  • Provides configuration management and system monitoring.
  • Responsible for centralization of courts and replication, and provisioning virtual servers and service management of all related Virtual Machines (VMs).
  • Provides monitoring of databases, and supporting the Infrastructure environment.
  • Analyzes and fixes performance issues related to networking and OS and provides application upgrades.
  • Responsible for configuration management, monitoring, and maintenance of all hosted servers.

 

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's with 8+ years (or commensurate experience)
    Extensive knowledge in specialized functions.
  • A wide and comprehensive understanding of, both general and specific aspects of the job and its application.
  • Develops technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
  • Work is performed without discernible direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignment.
  • May supervise others.
  • Effects of decisions are long-lasting and heavily influence the future course of the Company.
  • Errors in judgment or failure to achieve results would result in the expenditure of large amounts of resources.
  • Linux System Administration Skills (Red Hat)
  • VMware Virtualization Experience - design, installation, and administration; Database (Informix)
  • Experience developing project management standards, ensuring project management procedures are followed, and completing project documents
  • Experience preparing formal written technical content for the development, implementation, and management of projects
  • Experience overseeing, coordinating, and monitoring IT systems development and testing efforts, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and as planned
  • Hardware Support Skills (HP Blades and Hitachi Storage)
  • Clearance Required: Ability to acquire and maintain Public Trust

Posted Pay Range

 

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Pay range: $94,150 - $150,650 Annually
