Operations & Maintenance Lead

The Operations Lead will provide overall management and technical leadership for GAO network operations to include the GAO network (approximately 3,600 users).

 

Must have skills/experience:

  • 12+ years and a Bachelors (or commensurate experience)
  • Technical to Business Acumen – ability to interact with CXO and Director Level stakeholders on a daily basis; take complex technical issues and break them down into easily understood technical and business requirements
  • Management of a hyperconverged environment (VMWare, Nutanix, etc.)
  • Experience in a hybrid environment (Windows, Linux, Virtualized servers and desktops)

It is desirable that the Operations Lead has a minimum of 5 years:

  • Demonstrated experience leading and supervising teams of various job categories and skills in a converged network of similar size and scope as GAO.
  • Demonstrated experience with LAN/WAN architecture integration.
  • Demonstrated experience with investigating and successfully implementing and integrating of new technologies into a converged network.
  • Demonstrated Experience managing personnel in the following areas: storage technologies, enterprise security, network management, desktop and server operating systems, directory services, unified communications, wireless technologies, application distribution technologies, and internet services.

 

Experience with:

  • Server Virtualization Infrastructure
  • Virtual Desktop Infrastructure

 

 Environment Description:

  • Linux Servers (non-virtual)
  • Windows Servers (mix of non-virtual, virtual) (Production, Dev/Test/QA/DR)
  • Virtual Server Infrastructure (VSI) hosts (VMWare)
  • Virtual Server Infrastructure (VSI) clients (Windows Server)
  • Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) clients (Non-Persistent Windows 10)
  • Local Clients (Windows / Linux)
  • “Hyperconverged” Architecture (Nutanix)
  • EMC SAN
  • WAN Connections
  • VPNs to both Federal and industry service providers
  • Separate Disaster Recover (DR) facility
