Overview
GovCIO is currently hiring for a React Developer to support a legacy modernization effort on our VRE PSES Team. This position is full time and fully remote.
Responsibilities
Builds and codes applications and/or modules using React and Redux technologies. Provides patches and upgrades to existing systems, once modernization is complete. Involved in planning of system and development deployment as well as responsible for meeting software compliance standards, including 508 compliance. May design graphical user interface (GUI) to meet the specific needs of users. Prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.
- Designs and codes applications following specifications using the appropriate tools
- Maintains and modifies existing software application, once modernization is complete
- Analyzes detailed systems factors, including input and output requirements, information flow, software requirements, and alternative methods of problem resolution.
- Performs modifications to and maintenance of operational programs and procedures.
- Participates in code reviews to represent reviewed work for adherence to standards and specifications.
- Writes or revises program documentation, operations documentation and user guides in accordance with standards.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's with 2 - 5 years or (commensurate experience)
- Strong experience in React Development
- Strong experience and knowledge of Redux
- Experience with unit testing and end-to-end testing
- Experience using a css library such as tailwind/bootstrap/SASS
- Experience work with RESTful APIs and JSON data
- Analytical and investigation skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and supervision
- Experience with Agile Methodology and Scrum Processes
- Advanced knowledge of software development lifecycle
- Experience with code versioning and project management tools (e.g. GitHub etc.)
- Demonstrated experience in a remote work environment
- Must be a US citizen or authorized to work in the US
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience with VA and/or other Federal Agencies
- Experience work on a legacy modernization

Posted Pay Range
The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
Pay range: $85,000 - $95,000 Annually
