Responsibilities

 

As a Cybersecurity Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for providing significant knowledge and engineering skills in cybersecurity and protection, while managing Responsive Cyber team, Proactive Cyber team, and Cyber Engineering team Subject Matter Experts in configuring tools to include elastic and Kafka to support SIEM. You will plan, support, and lead all assessments, and provide advanced analytic support. Work closely with the ISSO team. Oversee design, implementation, and maintenance of all Cyber Excellence Cell products via IaC, engineer data source ingest, and research and development of new capabilities. The Cybersecurity Engineering Manager will also supervise the Security Operations Center, which monitors SIEM for suspicious activity across Production, Test and Development environments, and oversee case management of triggered suspicious activities. Additional responsibilities will include:

  1. Serves as the direct interface between the engineering / subject matter expert teams and the Program Manager
  2. Participates in the certification and accreditation processes; performs technical vulnerability assessments of network security
  3. Provides business continuity and disaster recovery support
  4. Engages in intrusion detection and prevention; provides incident reporting and response support
  5. Conducts ongoing monitoring of network security requirements and compliance, maintains system security plans and risk mitigation plans
  6. Ensures that the appropriate security features and safeguards have been implemented on all information systems as required by DoD/IC policy and directives, and industry best practices
  7. Provides vulnerability management and response, security assessments, customer support and provides guidance on security issues

 Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a computer related field with 12+ years (or commensurate experience)
  • Secret Clearance, with ability to obtain TS/SCI
  • Must be knowledgeable and experienced with ACAS and supporting IAVA and STIG compliance
  • 5+ years’ experience with and knowledge of network protocols, network routing devices, computer security devices, security architectures, methodologies, and tools
  • 5+ years’ experience with and knowledge of network security concepts and configuration
  • 2+ years’ experience with network Certification and Accreditation
  • 4+ years’ experience with data tagging and data loss prevention
  • 4+ years’ experience with data rights management
  • Log management and analysis
  • Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) support
  • Firewall support to include configuring, monitoring, analysis, and hardening
  • Intrusion Detection System (IDS)/Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) support
  • Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) and Host Based Security Solution (HBSS) network scanning
  • Cyber administration of Windows and Linux assets
  • Packet capture and analysis
  • Advisement on cybersecurity best practices and methodologies such as comply to connect, patch management, antivirus implementation, packet analysis, enterprise monitoring, and system hardening
  • CISSP or CISM certification

 Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience leading tasks and/or mentoring junior staff
  • CEH certification
