We are seeking a skilled Software Test Engineer to join our team for a critical Oracle Database/WebLogic project involving the migration of our Oracle Database from 12c to 19c and WebLogic applications from 12c to version 14c. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in testing enterprise applications, experience with Oracle Database 19c/WebLogic 14c, and a solid understanding of Java and JEE technologies. The Software Test Engineer will be responsible for developing and executing test plans, identifying and reporting defects, and collaborating with developers and other stakeholders to ensure a successful migration of our applications to the new platform.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on Oracle Migration project (Database from 12c to 19c and WebLogic from 12c to 19c) requirements and specifications
- Execute manual and automated tests on WebLogic/Java applications, and document test results and defects
- Participates in all aspects of testing, including functional, regression, load and system testing.
- Ensure compatibility of the Java applications with the new WebLogic 14c and Oracle 19c platform in cloud environment
- Collaborate with developers to resolve defects and issues found during testing
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and sprint retrospectives
- Conducts evaluation of software/systems activities including requirements, design, development, documentation, integration, test, verification and validation.
- Defines appropriate measures to ensure product quality.
- Develops overall operating criteria to ensure implementation of the software/system quality program according to project, process and contract requirements and objectives.
- Ensures that projects and process control documentation are compliant with requirements, objectives and/or contracts.
- Reviews software/systems design, change specifications, and plans against contractual and/or process requirements. Reviews include applicable specifications, materials, tools, techniques, and methodologies. Provides or directs verification and validation of software system requirements, traceability, and testability.
- Develops, publishes, and implements test plans for complex, multi-tier, distributed, applications throughout the full lifecycle.
- Develops automated testing systems using commercial tools, scripts and data set.
- Assures the appropriate level of quality by the resolution of important defects by working with developers and/or engineers to ensure the software or hardware development process has an appropriate level of testing.
- Develops response strategies and processes for high-criticality and security vulnerability related bug notifications.
- Pro-actively investigates and finds potential security holes and attack vectors within both the existing and newly-developed code base.
- Continuously improve the quality of our software products by identifying opportunities for test automation, process improvement, and other best practices
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and new testing tools and methodologies
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with 5-8 years (or commensurate experience)
- 5 years of experience in software testing, with a focus on enterprise applications
- 2 – 3 experience with test automation frameworks, such as Selenium
- Experience with testing custom-coded web-based systems in a team
- Experience with regression testing
- Experience with Oracle databases and writing and running complex SQL statements
- Experience with WebLogic 12c/14c or similar middleware technologies (i.e. WebSphere)
- Strong understanding of testing methodologies and best practices
- Experience working in an agile environment
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Ability to support Oracle Stored procedures, packages, jobs.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Azure DevOps
- Worked in a Java and JEE technology environment

Compensation Range (In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act for remote or positions located in CO)
$105,000-110,000
