Responsibilities

Establishes and maintains smooth operation of computer systems (to include operating systems, software and hardware) in networked or stand-alone configurations, maintains system integrity, and upgrades systems and/or servers as required. May create and document new methods supporting network/system operations and implement changes to procedures. Consults with support teams, help desks, customers and other technical staff in the resolution of problems, coordinates and performs operation and/or maintenance activities for networks/servers, identifies recurring problems and recommends steps to reduce the severity or frequency of problems. May plan for the transition of development and/or production environments to new technologies, utilize system software to monitor the performance of system files, manage system data to maintain performance efficiencies and/or study system requirements to determine proper server installation methods and procedures.

 
1.Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments, including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations.
2.Plan, coordinate, and implement network/system security measures in order to protect data, software, and hardware.
3.Provides regular monitoring and analysis regarding short and long-range planning for in-house systems.
4.Prepares or ensures that appropriate documentation exists, including operational instructions.
5.Writes or modifies basic scripts to resolve performance problems and automate administration tasks.
6.Recommend changes to improve systems and network configurations, and determine hardware or software requirements related to such changes.

Qualifications
  • High School with 10+ years (or commensurate experience)
  • TS w/ SCI eligibility
  • DoD 8570 compliant with IAT Level II (as a minimum)
  • Position requires on-site support at Quantico, VA with telework flexibility at customer’s discretion

Required Skills and Experience

  • 8+ years of progressively increasing system administrator support
  • Experienced with NetApp storage systems running Clustered DataONTAP (C-DOT) to include
    • 5+ years of focused experience with NetApp Data ONTAP (C-DOT)
    • Proficiency administering via command line, PowerShell, and System Manager
    • Storage provisioning
    • Capacity management
    • Network interface management
    • SVM/Vserver management
    • CIFS/NFS/ISCSI management
    • Performs non-disruptive NetApp software upgrades
  • Experienced with VMware Virtualization to include
    • 3+ years of focused experience with VMware Virtualization 6.5+
    • Creating/deploying virtual machines
    • Troubleshooting physical host performance issues
    • Supporting VMware engineer with ESXi upgrades
  • Supports day-to-day operations for storage and virtualization services in a multi-node and multiple classification environment
  • Primary escalation point for enterprise storage related problems
  • Supports security control implementation actions as needed
  • Provides support for Tier 1/2/3 team members with storage/virtualization needs
  • Assist other system administrators with troubleshooting client/host storage problems on Microsoft and Unix based platforms
  • Performs preventative maintenance on storage/virtualization systems
  • Creates/maintains application and security documentation
  • Provides SME support to command leadership with storage/virtualization needs
  • Consults and advises government customer with best practice implementations as well as planned lifecycle processes
  • Supports customer requests for data archiving efforts
  • Configures and maintains backup, restore, and recovery efforts
  • Good communication skills
  • Must work well independently and as part of a team

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Familiarity with CISCO UCS
  • Familiarity with CISCO HyperFlex
  • Familiarity with AWS DataSync off-site replication
