GovCIO is currently hiring a Systems Architect in support of the Air Force BluSCI network. This position will be located in San Antonio TX and will be an on-site position.



The System Architect works closely with the Enterprise Technical Director and orchestrates the overall design, development and implementation of core enterprise capabilities in accordance with the Air Force BlueSCI Strategic Vision. As an Architect, they provide guidance to engineers, stakeholders,  and the Enterprise Technical team performing development, security, operations and integration activities for the enterprise. 



  • Develop, implement, and monitor information systems policies and controls.
  • Plan and design the structure of technology systems.
  • Determine enterprise future needs and craft system specifications/solutions.
  • Coordinate with key stakeholders to provide technical solutions and recommendations to further the development of the BluSCI Enterprise
  • Ensure that systems satisfy quality standards and procedures.
  • Orchestrate testing procedures to ensure systems are running smoothly and produce progress reports.
  • Collaborate with Platform Analyst and System Engineers to ensure systems run smoothly.
  • Research and recommend optimal products, systems and system configurations to the customer.
  • Act as senior representative to vendors providing core capabilities.
  • Manage prioritized work schedules in conjunction with Agile teams oversee IT projects from start to finish.
  • Review and advise on priorities to address the client mission and high priority initiatives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with other groups to accomplish client objectives.
  • Ensure data accuracy, security, and regulatory compliance.
  • Review reports of computer and peripheral equipment production, malfunction, and maintenance to determine and address and resolve problems.



  • High School with 10+ years  experience
  • Must possess Microsoft Security +CE (or equivalent) certification.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Hands-on experience in software development and system administration.
  • In-depth knowledge of strategic IT solutions
  • Clearance Required: TS/SCI
  • Verified eligibility active on Day 1


  • Advanced certifications such as Microsoft Azure family preferred.
  • MCSE for Cloud Platform and Infrastructure.
  • VMWare Certification for Data Center Virtualization
  • Nutanix Certified Professional certification.
  • At least five (5) years of government contracting experience preferred but not required.
  • Extensive knowledge of computer hardware and networking systems.
  • Proven critical thinking and strategic problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent oral and written communication.
  • Ability to assimilate information and have up-to-date technical know-how

Posted Pay Range


The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Pay range: $150,000 - $180,000 Annually
