Position Description:

The System administrator will be responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems and servers. He/She will actively resolve problems and issues with computer and server systems to limit work disruptions within the organization. The successful candidates will support approximately 900 users operating approximately 1,200 NIPRNet computers, 65 multi-function devices, and various other endpoints. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization.
  • Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues
  • Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure
  • Perform or delegate regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures
  • Lead desktop and helpdesk support efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s with 5 – 8 years (or commensurate experience)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT-related field, business administration, or technology management
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • IAT Level II Certification (e.g., SEC+ or equivalent)
  • 5 years of experience as a Systems Administrator
  • Understanding of the configuration, management, and use of security information and event management (SIEM) software, including properly reacting to SIEM events.
  • Experience managing the system vulnerability identification and resolution process in order to support the network accreditation process.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Operating Systems; Microsoft Office; Microsoft SharePoint; .NET; MS SQL Server; VMWARE, VCenter, ESX 5.0 and Above; MS active Directory Admin; Cisco products to include but not limited to 3560 switches, routers, and ASA firewalls and intrusion prevention systems(IPS).
