Responsibilities

 

The Systems Architect/Engineer is responsible for providing technical expertise to a project that is supporting a system integration project for USAID.  This individual work with the Project Manager to support the successful configuration, implementation, testing, and deployment of the solution across the USAID Bureaus resulting in a final implemented solution that can be transitioned from the pilot stage through implementation to ongoing Operations and Maintenance (O&M). 

  • Deployment Strategy and Planning tasks to be implemented within the enterprise environment.
  • Develop Operations and Maintenance Plan for an enterprise environment.
  • The creation and deliverable of Technical Architecture Documents to be shared with both government and contractor stakeholders.
  • Develop Test Plans and Test Summary reports to be shared with both government and contractor stakeholders.
  • Create/review/deliver documentation that includes the following:
  • Interface Control Documentation.
  • Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs).
  • Software Engineering artifacts such as VSTS Process Flow, Environment Management Plan, Network Topology Diagrams, Code Migration Process Flow Diagrams and others.
  • Implement and Document Proof of Concept (POC) environment.
  • Perform Security and Performance Reporting/Analysis.
  • Perform Gap Analysis of technical requirements and potential solution sets.
  • Manage/Submit Sprint Reporting.
  • Validation of any/all system/design documentation as they become available.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s with 12+ years (or commensurate experience)
  • Should have a wide depth of IT knowledge that allows for this individual to see the entire vision of this effort and all of the technologies associated. This would include experience with understanding/implementing the following technologies: 
    • Enterprise Development Design.
    • Enterprise WAN/LAN Designs.
    • Enterprise Server/Storage Architecture Designs.
    • Enterprise Business Process Management.
    • Enterprise Security Best Practices.
  • Excellent communication skills with regards to providing executive summaries either verbally or written.
  • Excellent communication skills with regards to the creation of technical environmental information to be shared/reviewed for AoA’s, ATO’s, etc.
  • Should have experience working within a large Government Environment (vs. Commercial Environment).
  • Should have at least 5 years of direct IT Government Experience where the candidate can provide detailed examples of how they were involved in a large enterprise application implementation
  • Understand Agile SCRUM Framework
  • Bachelor’s Degree Required
  • The ability to obtain at least a SECRET clearance (e-QIP submission) and potentially a Top Secret

Desired Qualifications

  •  Has obtained relevant IT Certification(s) that would help support/understand the requirements of this position.
  •  Local to the DC/VA/MD area.
