GovCIO is looking for a senior and seasoned Delivery professional that will plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee delivery activities within the VA account, ensuring development and implementation of efficient operations and cost-effective systems to meet current and future needs of the account.


This position will report to a Senior Vice President and will have oversight of a broad portfolio consisting of IT programs such as IT service management, advisory services, IT modernization, business-process optimization, data analytics, cybersecurity, infrastructure and platform development, portfolio engineering as well as cloud solutioning and architecture.


The VP of Delivery will focus on ensuring the delivery team meets “specific, measurable, actionable, relevant and time-bound” (SMART) metrics, which reflect performance measures usually focused on price and quality.


This is a full-time remote position.

In this role you will work collaboratively with the VA account senior leadership and delivery team members, subject matter experts, clients, vendors, and teaming partners. Ideal candidates will have a strong track record of serving as ambassadors for service or product offerings, specifically with engagement with C-level individuals.

  • Lead a team of seasoned program and client delivery professionals supporting GovCIO’s VA account.
  • Establish, implement, and communicate the strategic direction of the VA delivery team.
  • Ensure the delivery team decisions and plans for staffing, development, organization, quality, and efficiency, are in line with the account’s strategic plan and vision.
  • Establish, communicate, and implement operations-related policies, practices, standards, and measures to ensure effective and consistent support and delivery execution in support of the VA account customers.
  • Work with senior executive leadership to review and approve cost-control reports, cost estimates, and staffing requirements for projects.
  • Present during Program Management Reviews (PMRs) at various levels within the organization.
  • Work with growth team to identify/qualify new clients and opportunities.
  • Consistently provide accurate revenue forecasts on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Proactively and regularly initiate client-facing efforts, and effectively understand client needs.
  • Maintain collaborative atmosphere by sharing input and ideas received from delivery teams and customers.
  • Coordinate and support face-to-face customer meetings with senior management and C-Level Executives.
  • Meet with clients and potential prospects on a regular basis to build and nurture the relationship.
  • Assist in preparing for and facilitating meetings and deliver presentations to clients.
  • Possess the ability to translate client needs into strong positioning and messaging.
  • Build and sustain trusted advisor relationships with senior client executives.
  • Understand and articulate GovCIO’s value proposition and full portfolio of services.


Required Skills and Experience

  • 20+ years of demonstrable, successful experience leading delivery and client support operations to the Federal Government
  • Possess experience with supporting a large deliver organization within the VA
  • Experience with the Federal acquisition process and regulations
  • Comfortable in all aspects of the client delivery cycle.
  • Strong established relationships.
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work independently with little or no direct supervision.
  • Have experience shaping a variety of opportunities including a relevant mix of program types, complexities, products, technologies, and customers.
  • Travel will be required.

Posted Pay Range


The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Pay range: $195,000 - $210,000 Annually
