VMware vSphere Engineer/Service Transition Coordinator Expert Consultant #2406

Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring for a/an VMware vSphere Engineer/Service Transition Coordinator Expert Consultant. This position will be located in San Antonio, TX.

Responsibilities

• Understanding of VMware products including: vSphere, vCenter, NSX, vROps, vRA, and Horizon View
• Expert skills in vSphere with large implementation experience (more than 100 hosts)
• vROps solution integration experience involving a wide range of technologies; Experience administering Capacity Planner
• Experience virtualizing multiple operating systems, developing technical and end user documentation, and addressing security-related concerns
• Experience with vRA preferred
• Professional demeanor with a strong sense of urgency and a proactive approach to problem solving
• Familiarity with ITIL framework
• Understanding of service management, project management, and quality management best practices
• Familiarity with storage systems such as 3Par, Hitachi VSP, and NetApp
• Familiarity with scripting (Perl, Python, PowerShell, etc.) as related to task automation preferred
• Some familiarity with networking, including administration and troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's with 12+ years (or commensurate experience)
• Expert knowledge in specialized functions. Exhaustive understanding of, both general and specific aspects of the job and its application.
• Works on unusually complex technical problems and provide solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious.
• Work is unsupervised and assignments are often self-initiated. Work checked through consultation and agreement with client rather than by formal review of superior. May supervise others.
• Develops advanced technological ideas and guides their development into a final product. Erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in failure to achieve critical organizational objectives and affect the image of the
• Company's technological capability.
