Overview
GovCIO is currently hiring for a/an VMware vSphere Engineer/Service Transition Coordinator Expert Consultant. This position will be located in San Antonio, TX.
Responsibilities
- Understanding of VMware products including: vSphere, vCenter, NSX, vROps, vRA, and Horizon View
- Expert skills in vSphere with large implementation experience (more than 100 hosts)
- vROps solution integration experience involving a wide range of technologies; Experience administering Capacity Planner
- Experience virtualizing multiple operating systems, developing technical and end user documentation, and addressing security-related concerns
- Experience with vRA preferred
- Professional demeanor with a strong sense of urgency and a proactive approach to problem solving
- Familiarity with ITIL framework
- Understanding of service management, project management, and quality management best practices
- Familiarity with storage systems such as 3Par, Hitachi VSP, and NetApp
- Familiarity with scripting (Perl, Python, PowerShell, etc.) as related to task automation preferred
- Some familiarity with networking, including administration and troubleshooting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's with 12+ years (or commensurate experience)
- Expert knowledge in specialized functions. Exhaustive understanding of, both general and specific aspects of the job and its application.
- Works on unusually complex technical problems and provide solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious.
- Work is unsupervised and assignments are often self-initiated. Work checked through consultation and agreement with client rather than by formal review of superior. May supervise others.
- Develops advanced technological ideas and guides their development into a final product. Erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in failure to achieve critical organizational objectives and affect the image of the
- Company's technological capability.

Posted Pay Range
The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process.
