Administer operating system changes and updates, security updates and processes and perform routine server administrative functions to include periodic system backups, configurations, and monitor daily health of the system. The administrator shall run system usage reports, check system logs and perform network policy compliance actions per DoD and DA guidance. The administrator shall also maintain a MS SQL database and shall be responsible for ensuring integrity, security, availability, and recoverability of the VTC/IPTV/AV data. Administrator will maintain required network certifications as required. Administrator will update and upload required ATO documents into eMASS.
Tasks include but not limited to: responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining operating VTC/IPTV/AV system servers, in support of business processing requirements.
The Server Administrator performs software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software
packages. Schedules installations and upgrades and maintains them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures. Monitors and tunes the system to achieve optimum performance levels. Ensures server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions. Ensures data/media recoverability by implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations. Supports media management through internal methods and procedures or through offsite storage and retrieval services.
Develops and promotes standard operating procedures. Conducts routine hardware and software audits of servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines. Develops and maintains a comprehensive operating system hardware and software configuration database/library of all supporting documentation. .Proficient with the use of the suite of Microsoft products to include but not limited to jMSServer, MSSQL, MS Teams, MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point, MS SharePoint, and MS Visio. Proficient
knowledge of VMWare preferred.

 

Required Skills:

 

Bachelor’s with 2 – 5 years (or commensurate experience)

  • Education/Experience: Shall maintain required network certifications as required
  • Clearance: Secret
  • Certifications: IAT Level I
  • Proficient with the use of the suite of Microsoft products to include but not limited to MS Teams, MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point, MS SharePoint, and MS Visio

Proficient knowledge of VMWare
