LGY Background
The Loan Guaranty (LGY) and Specially Adapted Housing/Special Housing Adaptation (SAH/SHA) programs are essential components of the Department of Veterans Affairs’ mission to serve Veterans by facilitating access to housing benefits and grants. The LGY product line systems—including WebLGY, VALERI-R, and Loan Guaranty Analytics (LGA)—support over $500 million in loan transactions each day, enabling comprehensive lifecycle services across eligibility, valuation, servicing, and oversight for thousands of internal and external users.
OIT and VBA are working to concur the ongoing challenges of maintaining and advancing these mission-critical systems. The LGY Product Line (PL) is looking to shrink a growing backlog of sustainment tasks, understand the considerable technical complexity, upgrade the aging infrastructure, and minimize or elmiminate the highly manual workflows.
LGY Objectives & Scope
OIT and VBA are looking to the LGY DevSecOps 2.0 program to sustain the LGY Product Line while employing an incremental modernization strategy that enables future-state capabilities. To solve these problems and exceed requirements, the VA must adopt a nimble delivery model supported by DevSecOps automation, human-centered design (HCD), and continuous stakeholder engagement. GovCIO’s LGY team will deliver a new model that should unify the intake and triage of business needs, streamline prioritization through collaboration, incorporate VA governance standards, and reduce delivery friction by leveraging composable architectures such as Salesforce, Appian, and ServiceNow. Ultimately, achieving LGY’s vision requires a partner who not only understands the technical ecosystem, but also leads with transparency, fosters collaboration, and enables shared progress across all levels of the VA and its partners.
