Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring a talented and experienced Application Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of software integration methodologies, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. As an Application Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing and supporting our client’s portfolio tools and dashboards. You will work directly with stakeholders, government leads, and other engineers to create, maintain, and enhance a variety of low-code automation tools, web applications, and various other services. This role demands a self-driven, customer-focused individual who is proficient in learning, adapting, and applying new tools and technologies swiftly to meet our client’s needs. This position will be fully remote located in the United States. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain low-code automation tools, web applications, and other platforms to support portfolio operations.

  • Collaborate directly with stakeholders and systems engineers to gather requirements, troubleshoot issues, and deliver solutions.

  • Provide application and data integration support to facilitate portfolio automation and the development of sophisticated dashboards.

  • Learn and adapt new tools and technologies quickly to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Manage SQL databases, ensuring data integrity, performance, and security.

  • Work independently, taking full ownership of projects from initiation to completion.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering or a related field with 10 years of relevant experience, preferably in application support or development (4 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education).
  • Experience in developing and maintaining low-code automation tools (such as SharePoint, PowerBI, Jira/Confluence, and others)
  • Demonstrated experience with development tools such as C# or .NET
  • Demonstrated experience managing SQL/Oracle or other data management systems. 
  • Demonstrated experience configuring/integrating platform or application API’s
  • Strong SharePoint development knowledge 
  • Proven ability to quickly learn, adapt, and effectively apply new tools and technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a self-motivated and customer-focused approach.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of working directly with stakeholders and team members.
  • Ability to handle projects independently, from requirement gathering to solution delivery.
  • Facilitate API design decisions in consideration with:
    • On-premises or cloud-based infrastructure
    • Dataset requirements
    • Security protocols needing to be implemented
    • Functionalities based on the architectural style(s) or pattern(s) to be employed

 

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools.
  • Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate).

 

Clearance required: Ability to obtain and maintain a suitability/Public Trust

Posted Pay Range

 

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Pay range: $120,000 - $130,000 Annually
