Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring for Automation Engineer in support of the AF BlueSCI Enterprise.  This position will be located in San Antonio, TX and will be an onsite position.

Responsibilities

Gathers information concerning the capabilities of Company products; investigates the technical capabilities of Company products and competing equipment and/or solutions; stays abreast of developments in hardware and software. Generates quantifiable requirements based on customer description, system planning and design, and ensures requirements comply through formal verification methods. Translates high level product development strategies into network and system requirement specifications and works with other engineering disciplines to develop lower level detailed implementation requirements. Establishes and coordinates development of standards, practices, and procedures as related to the overall network and system development. Designs interfaces and brings network and system elements together so they work as a whole. Assesses performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures. Customer liaison and support for business development activities and to understand and shape requirements.

  • Coordinates the planning, design, and installation of equipment, using knowledge of engineering and programming as well as sophisticated instruments and computers.
  • Participates in system conceptual design and documentation of the design concepts.
  • Installs all new hardware, systems, and software for networks.
  • Designs, creates, and builds network services, equipment and devices.
  • Generates system level requirements verification procedures and customer acceptance test procedures.
  • Monitors system performance and implements performance tuning.
  • Reviews test plans/procedures and ensures they meet the objectives of the contractual requirements and participates in the testing process to validate requirements.

Specifically, this position will:

  • Lead in the design and implementation of automation based tools and processes for the AF BlueSCI Enterprise.
  • Analyze and Assess systems, identify inefficiencies and propose automation solutions.
  • Keep up to date with the latest tools and technologies.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams, the Quality Manager and the Continuous Process Improvement lead as well as various stakeholders in the AF BlueSCI Enterprise.
  • Streamline technical process in both efficiency and accuracy and provide the bridge between manual tasks and technical solutions.
  • Provide recommendations for automation tools and solutions.
  • Execute thorough testing protocols to validate automation system functionality.
  • Document processes and system configurations
  • Continuously evaluate and update automation systems and policy to improve efficiencies.
  • Develop scripts to automate repetitive tasks to improve workflows across multiple organizations withing the AF BlueSCI Enterprise.
  • Work closely with the System Security Manager to ensure that any new solution adheres or improves the security posture of the AF BlueSCI Enterprise.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • High School with 9+ Years of experience working with Tools, processes and automation solutions.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Experience working with scripting languages and automation tools
  • Experience with automation testing tool
  • Strong experience using service now
  • Proven ability to coordinate with stakeholders and collaborate with other team members
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills
  • Clearance Required: TS/SCI
    • Verified eligibility active on Day 1

Desired Qualifications

  • Certification in automate systems or related technologies
  • Experience working in an AGILE environment
  • Knowledge of CMMI Level 3 processes

Posted Pay Range

 

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Pay range: $120,000 - $130,000 Annually
