Overview

The Asset Manager manages the complete lifecycle of assets / Configuration Items (CIs) from procurement (start), to decommissioning (finish). As the subject matter expert for logistics, performs and coordinates detailed logistics analysis of IT assets, provides logistics support, implements and evaluates the logistic goals and priorities for the VA Network & Security Operations Center. Actively participates as required in support projects of major scope and complexity. Advises the VA-NSOC in the area of logistics operations; develops logistics methods & procedures in the areas of asset control, inventory management, accountability; oversees the coordination, determination, redistribution and implements tactical standard operating procedures for reutilization and disposal of IT excess equipment.

 

Responsibilities

Reviews field support requirements and recommends tool and test equipment. Establishes calibration requirements for field systems/equipment including all maintenance tasks. Performs maintenance and maintainability demonstrations for customers. Reviews handbooks for technical adequacy. Assists in the development of maintenance engineering and logistics support. Plans and contributes to proposal efforts.

 

  • Manage MAC tickets via ServiceNow (Moves, Adds, Changes)
  • Shipping and Receiving of Assets (Logistics)
  • Perform audits of all IT assets within the VA-NSOC (Annual Inventories)
  • Create and modify configured items on CenterScape (CI Database)
  • Monitor all IT assets from procurement through disposition for compliance to VA policies
  • Experience with large asset management and logistics environment
  • Moderate skills using the Microsoft Office Suite, proficient in use of Excel spreadsheets
  • Moderate skills using a ticketing system.
  • General technical understanding of network equipment and functions, datacenter operations
  • Determines logistics support sequences and time phasing
  • Good writing and interpersonal skills
  • Analyzes contractual commitments, customer specifications, design changes, and other data to plan and develop logistic program activities from conceptual stage through life-cycle of product.
  • Develops and implements program activities, coordinates efforts of subcontractors, production departments, and field service personnel to ensure meeting of contractual commitments.
  • Compiles data on standardization and interchangeability of parts to expedite logistics activities.
  • Determines logistic support sequences and time phasing, problems arising from location of operational area, and other factors, such as environmental and human factors affecting personnel.
  • Develops and initiates preparation of handbooks, bulletins, and information systems to provide and supply logistics support.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's with 2 - 5 years (or commensurate experience) of logistics management experience
  • Clearance Required: Ability to obtain a public trust clearance

Posted Pay Range

 

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Pay range: $53,770 - $86,030 Annually
