GovCIO is seeking a candidate for the position of Project Manager to support the Department of Veterans Affairs VRE PSES Program. The Project Manager will be a hands-on leader who will be responsible for day-to-day oversight of multiple projects. The Project Manager will be responsible for client interactions and ensuring production of quality on-time project deliverables. The environment is dynamic and client needs are often evolving; flexibility and critical thinking are important for success.

Responsibilities

The Project Manager will:

  • Lead and manage matrixed delivery teams consisting of developers, business analysts, testers, and production support
  • Execute and deliver on the backlog and roadmap that you create with your team and stakeholders
  • Take vague requirements and requests and deliver robust products, recommendations and/or solutions
  • Schedule and assign duties to team members using Scrum Agile methods
  • Lead Scrum ceremonies and organization for multiple teams
  • Have strong analytical and investigation skills crafting solutions to challenging problems or issues
  • Work with the government stakeholders to develop priorities, level of efforts for requirements and recommendations for future development
  • Act as an advocate for the end user, government stakeholders and business partners as it relates to product issues and improvements
  • Extrapolate and communicate a client’s main challenges and pain points and craft strong solutions and recommendations
  • Be responsible for on-time completion of project deliverables
  • Identify and mitigate risks to the project, and escalate risks, as necessary
  • Track schedule, risks, project needs and performance, reporting to leadership on a bi-weekly basis

Qualifications

 

Education Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree (10 years can be substituted for a bachelor’s degree)

Experience Requirements:

  • Years of Experienced Required: 5+
  • Experience working and managing multiple teams, preferably in a remote environment
  • Experience within the VA is a plus
  • PM-related certifications such as PMP, CSM, CSPO or ITIL are not required, but good to have.

 

Skills Requirements:

  • Proven leadership experience as a Project Manager building and sustaining high performing teams, preferably in an Agile IT delivery environment
  • Clear understanding of Scrum/Agile with documented experience with Jira or an ability to quickly learn Jira software
  • The ability to work in a fast pace, ever changing environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Consistently ensure business is always conducted with integrity and that behavior aligns with GovCIO policies, procedures, and core competencies
  • Possess a positive attitude and upbeat personality, ready to lead in a camera-on remote environment
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and supervision

Compensation Range (In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act for remote or positions located in CO)

$85,000-$90,000
