We are here to help with any questions you may have about the application process. Below are answers to some of our most asked questions.
Q: How do I find jobs that meet my search criteria?
A: Enter keywords such as job title, field, or location in the search box on https://govcio.com/jobs. Filter results by remote status (onsite, hybrid, fully remote, flexible), location, area of interest, or clearance level.
Q: What does GovCIO’s hybrid/remote work policy look like?
A: GovCIO’s telework and remote work policy outlines various work arrangements and the responsibilities for employees for each. The job posting will also indicate whether it is fully remote, fully onsite, or a hybrid schedule, meaning a combination of remote and onsite work. The work arrangements vary per position and are driven by position and/or customer requirements, so we highly recommend discussing schedule expectations during the interview process.
Q: Do I need to be a U.S. Citizen to apply at GovCIO?
A: Generally speaking, no. However, U.S. citizenship can be a requirement on some positions per contract obligations and/or clearance level requirements.
Q: If I don’t have a required certification but plan to obtain it, should I still apply?
A: Yes, if you plan to obtain the certification and can meet that requirement but be sure to note the correct status (in progress).
Q: If I don’t have the required clearance but am willing to obtain one, should I still apply?
A: If the clearance is listed as a required qualification vs. preferred qualification, no. However, if the job description states “must be able to obtain” before the clearance level, then it is not a hard requirement preventing consideration.
Q: I’m interested in a job with GovCIO. How do I apply?
A: Please visit our careers site and search with the filters and/or keywords to review current opportunities. Click on a specific job to review further details and click the “apply” button to start the apply process. https://govcio.com/jobs/
Q: I’m a GovCIO employee. How do I submit an application online?
A: As a current GovCIO employee, you should access current opportunities through our internal career site using SSO login, which you can find on the Okta Dashboard.
Q: How do I apply as a former employee?
A: As a former employee, you may have an existing profile in the system. Log back into the existing profile via the GovCIO career portal, by entering your personal email address, and clicking the “reset your password” button.
If you do not know the email address to use to login, please contact [email protected] for assistance. If you do not have an existing profile, create a new one and apply as an applicant selecting “Rehire/Former Employee.”
Q: Can I apply via email?
A: No, an application must be submitted via our career site to be considered. If you have issues applying, please contact [email protected] for assistance.
Q: Can I apply for multiple jobs at one time?
A: Yes, you will be able to apply to multiple positions during one session but will need to click on each position individually. The system will pre-populate the initial application data for additional applications within the session.
Q: If there are multiple listings with the same job title, is it necessary to apply to each listing or is one enough?
A: Yes. If you wish to apply to multiple listings, regardless of title similarities, you will need to apply to each listing individually. If applying to multiple in the same login session, the initial application data will auto-populate for you.
Q: Can I make changes to my application?
A: Yes. Log back into the GovCIO career portal and select “dashboard” at the top right of the page, then select the update profile option on your dashboard.
Q: How can I withdraw my application?
A: Log in to your dashboard on the GovCIO career portal. Select the button next to the applicable position(s) listed to withdraw your application.
Q: I’m having trouble submitting my application. Can you help?
A: We’re happy to help. There are a few common fixes such as using a supported browser (Edge, Firefox, Chrome, Safari), clearing browsing data (cookies) and if applying from a government or commercial network try using a personal network. If issues persist, please reach out to [email protected] and include the error message and/or a screenshot.
Q: What does the application review turnaround time look like?
A: The timeline can vary depending on the role, the volume of applications, and the specific needs of the position. Some roles may move quickly, while others take more time due to the complexity of the review process. We appreciate your patience and encourage you to monitor your email for updates.
Q: What does turnaround time look like once an interview is completed?
A: The turnaround time after an interview is completed is typically within a week, but please allow 1-2 weeks as there are a number of factors to be considered, including availability of the hiring team to evaluate and discuss, but is typically within a week once all interviews for the position are completed.
Q: What is the status of my application?
A: You can view the status of your application(s) at any time by logging back into our career portal and clicking on the link to your dashboard (at the top right of the page): https://careers-govcio.icims.com/r.jsp?up=null
If you haven’t received email correspondence regarding your application, it is likely your application is still in the review process. The timeframe for review depends on the position and number of applications. If your application is being advanced to the next step of the recruiting process, the recruiting team will contact you regarding the next step, which is typically an initial call with the recruiter.
Q: What does “under review” mean as a status on my application?
A: The recruiter is in the process of reviewing your application and will follow up with next steps or an update on your application.
Q: How can I confirm that I successfully applied?
A: View the list of all applications submitted on your dashboard. If a position is not listed, the application is not complete. Incomplete applications will show up on your dashboard and prompt for completion.
Q: I forgot my password. How do I get back into my profile?
A: Log into the career portal, enter your email address and select the link “reset your password.”
Q: What is the GovCIO Talent Network?
A: The GovCIO Talent Network allows you to share your resume and/or information with our talent team to stay informed on the latest job opportunities and company news.
Q: When I join the talent network, have I applied for a job at GovCIO?
A: No, this is not a job application. It is separate from the careers site, and to apply for a specific job you should do so via https://govcio.com/jobs.
Q: What is the benefit of joining the talent network?
We recommend joining the talent network if you are interested in pursuing opportunities at GovCIO but have not yet found a matching opportunity to which to apply.
